The Post Where I Jump for Joy

|Shirt:H&M|Shorts:Gap|Necklace:LiaSophia|

Everybody has a place.
For most people it is their room
but for me it is my trampoline

On my trampoline I jump
and jump
and jump

actually there was a song I used to listen to when I was teeny
it goes
"Sally was a jumping girl
and she jumped jumped jumped all over the world..."
in the end I remember she jumped through the forest to put out a fire
what kind of songs did I listen to.....

I actually used to do gymnastics
and I wasn't bad if I say so myself
but then it got to be too much
so I put my left over gymnastics skills to work on this trampoline
flips, handsprings, layouts, handstands you name it
if only I could do that stuff on the ground

Patterned shorts are my new favorite things
unfortunately my favorite things change as recently as I shop
which is OFTEN.

A Post ft. My Bike

|Dress:DKNY|Shoes:Converse|Bike:CWonder|

Do you want to know my favorite thing about summer?
No, it is not the no school part or the warm weather or even the swim suits
it is my bike
my beautiful hot pink bike

It almost makes the sweat and the exertion needed to ride it worth it.

I have been in a denim frenzy
denim shirts, shorts, vests, jackets and now dresses.

This dress is perfect for a bike ride to the beach.

Guest Blog #3 - 10 Summer Trends

Today's my last day, I'll miss you all terribly...but, the good news it that you can visit me atjamncookies.blogspot.com
So the goodbye won't be too hard.

It's out with the old, and in with the new, Goodbye clouds of gray, Hello skies of blue....
Sorry...High School Musical got the best of me.

Ah yes, it's summer time.
And while we are all getting reacquainted with our old shorts, skirts, and dresses it's also time to think about what to wear with them.
I happen to have 10 ideas up my sleeve.
How handy.

1.  Pull out that maxi.
Floor-skimming skirts and dresses are the most effortless thing to wear in the summer.
 2. Printed Pencil Skirts.
Pencil skirts are getting a little, well, boring. BUT, have no fear printed pencil skirts are here!!
Wear it with a simple tank top, colorful flats and a ladylike handbag. This look is so European chic
 3. Bring our your bolds and brights.
Show that bold side, break out those bright obnoxious pieces and rock the town. That’s what spring and summer are for! Kick those black and grays to the curb.
 4. Try a touch of leopard.
I know, I've said I hate animal print. AND I DO. However, when little pops of leopard are incorporated into a spring outfit, the result is refreshing. It adds a little spice.
5. Pair any pair of short shorts with chambray.
Who wears short shorts, we wear short shorts....
Patterned shorts are going to be big this summer—mark my words. Wear yours with a chambray shirt à la blogger Native Fox for a polished twist.

6. Romp around.
It's shorts, it's a skirt, NO it's a romper!
Like maxis they are effortless.
And just so darn cute.

7. Go monochromatic.
I  love monochrome. If put together right it looks amazing, just skiddly. I recommend trying to dress in one color that is easy to pull off—like all blue or all white.
8. Keep those statement necklaces.
Statement necklaces are not a new trend, but they are still on the forefront of the fashion horizons.
 9. Wrap that chambray.
Or any button-up.
I don't think this trend needs explaining. The cute picture does it for me.

10. Backless
I opt out of the backless trend but, there's no denying it. It is popular.
And, it 's kind of like a mullet...Business in the front and PAR-TAY in the back.

High school musical and mullets...man...I need sleep.

Guest Blog #2 - Get That Flower Headband DIY Tutorial

 It's Camille again :)

Let's get your head looking pretty.
By the time spring/summer rolls around don't you just want to run around in a flowered dress with flowers in your hair?
So, why not make it happen?
Flower crowns are just so C'est tout simplement magnifique.
So, I decided to let you all in on my secret to making them, and it's so easy.
Thank you Free People U Village.
And pretty soon you'll be prancing around in meadows with a crown of your own.

What you'll need:
*Spools of pretty ribbon, or any strand of anything. I got 3 colors of ribbon and a strand of pearls.
*Faux Flowers
*Scissors
*A hot glue gun

This only takes 10-15 minutes tops.
Ready, Set, GO.

1. Choose your ribbon. Pick out 3 or more pretty strands (these will be braided later on.)
The more you choose the thicker the crown.

2. Measure the ribbon, it should be able to wrap around your
 head twice.
And snip it with those scissors.

3. Tie your ribbon together in a knot and anchor it down.
*I recommend a heavy book*
4. Begin braiding the ribbon together until you reach your desired length.

5. Once you've finished braiding, knot the end of it.
After that, separate the flowers you want from the stem, leaving about an inch attached.

6. Place the flowers on crown as desired.

7. Then, taking a glue gun put a dot of glue right beneath the petals.
Slide the flower through the middle of the braid and seal it with a dob of glue in the back.

*Those hands below obviously aren't mine. And if you thought they were go see an eye doctor, you may be visually impaired.*
8. Wait for the glue to dry, otherwise you'd have a permanent flower crown stuck to your forehead, which may result in forehead irritation and funny stares when you go to the ER.
Once it's done tie the two ends together and.....
Voilà!!
You're done.
And now you can channel your inner fairy and go rock that flower crown.
Go live your own version of a Midsummer's Night Dream.
Although, I don't recommend kissing any donkeys...but it's really up to you.
 Xoxo
Camille

Guest Blog #1 - "Old Lady"

(Top-Target, Blazer-Caslon, Skirt-Landsend Kids, Socks-Target, Shoes-BP)

Hi guys!
I'm Camille from jamncookies.blogspot.com

On Saturday I went to see The Internship and one of the characters, Dana, had my dream wardrobe.  It was full of button up shirts, blazers, and colored pants.
Those three things to me are like Justin Bieber to you.
They are my thing.
The love of my life.
So in my excitement I leaned over to my friend and whisper-screamed:
I want those clothes!!
To which she began to stare at me like I had just said that I never wanted to step inside a J. Crew store again and said:
You mean you want to dress like an old lady?!

Crushed. I was crushed.
But, I'm undefeatable my friends and so I took that blazer, button up, and colored bottom look and paired it with some cool socks.
And when I saw her today she gushed:
Ohmygosh! You look so cute!!

Success.

So, the moral of my rambling story is that I'm not into labels but if "Old lady" is what I'm going to get called for wearing stuff like this then Old Lady it is.
But, it's in all the J.Crew and Madewell magazines so it must be cool...
.

I had that moment today, that moment of pure bliss when you're digging through your closet and find a gem that you've forgotten about.
This skirt was one of those finds.
It's like buying something new all over again.

These socks make my feet happy.

Pünk!¡!

One of the best things about summer vacation is that you finally have time
and with time you can do a lot of stuff that you have been meaning to do.
For me this was visit the Punk: Chaos to Couture show at The Met.
I mean I wrote a review on the dresses for the gala based on this exhibit so why not see the actual outfits featured.
The exhibit was really cool and very bright with a lot going on
it was also quite creepy at some points.

I will confess that I am not the biggest fan of the punk style.
Most of it looks like you either found it in the trash can or will kill someone if someone gets close to you
but I guess that is the beauty of it?

I do, however, like the punk elegance
this is like what the stars were supposed to do for the Met Gala
and they looked okay but after seeing this exhibit I realize now that they were wayyy off.

Here is a photo I took before getting yelled at by the security guard...woops
I would like to call this outfit "the touch me you die outfit".

Unfortunately this is my last post before handing my blog over to Camille for the week.
Enjoy!

Museum Mile

|romper:freepeople|Sweater:H&M|Shoes:Converse|Bag:J Crew|
I promised an outfit post.
So here it is.

Every year around this time the Museum Mile is held.
People from all over the city flock to fifth avenue to walk the shut off road, check out any museum in the mile for free and watch magicians/comedians/eat food.
Yesterday i joined these New Yorkers
and I just had to get a picture for you guys.
Unfortunately though the pictures were awful
but since there is only one museum mile a year
I decided to post them anyway.
